Walking / Hiking
Any walkers here? I've done many of the classic Lake District walks but nothing major foe quite a few years. Favourites were...
Loughrigg Terrace and Fell.
Helvellyn
Blencathra
The Fairfield Horshshoe
The Kentmere Horseshoe
The Langdale Pikes
Does/has anyone done this sort of thing? Anything in the North West. Any recommendations for anything a bit less strenuous than the above?

Have you tried walking along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal ? Pretty flat except for the Bingley 5 rise locks section. Easy to get to if you wanted to do it in sections. Took the train to Leeds and walked back to Wigan, took about a week with side trips, camped out but you could do B&B's because apart from the stretch over the Pennines, you're never far from civilisation.

Al dithering Llangollen canal from Whitchurch to the Horseshoe Falls…3 days and over the aquaduct…can’t spell its name…a difficult stretch for a couple of miles after Ellesmere where the towpath was a little overgrown….stayed at Ellesmere and Chirk overnight
